How do you collaborate if no one is in the same place?
We are a remote only work company. we adhere to specific principles to ensure effective communication and collaboration. We prioritize written and asynchronous communication and meet in person several times a year for team bonding and reflection. Virtual teamwork is our default mode. We uphold the right to disconnect, remain proactive in our communications, and continuously foster informal discussions and social interactions. These principles are crucial for ovii to perform sustainably as a unified company.
What technology stack do we use daily?
For front-end development, our stack centers around React, enhanced by Redux for state management and Webpack for module bundling. We use Babel for JavaScript compilation and React Router for navigation. For styling, we use Tailwind CSS for utility-first styling and Syncfusion for a comprehensive suite of UI components.
For back-end development, our primary language is Java, utilizing Spring Boot for our framework, which includes robust security features provided by Spring Security 5. Maven is our choice for build automation, ensuring a seamless build process. Additionally, we integrate Apache Kafka for real-time data processing and Docker for containerization, enhancing our deployment strategies. Our databases include both MySQL and NoSQL solutions. Azure serves as our cloud provider.
For large language models (LLMs), our toolkit includes OpenAI’s GPT, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face’s Transformers. Observability is managed with advanced frameworks like Prometheus and Grafana, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and analytics.
